2nd Cross-Fertilisation Workshop

European Aluminium organised on the 26th of September 2022 the 2nd Cross-Fertilisation Workshop “Boosting circularity in the process industry: Focus on industrial symbiosis between the aluminium and cement sectors” as an online event. This clustering event aimed to present the main outcome of relevant EU collaborative projects:

• addressing the development of new clinker and/or Supplementary Cementitious Material (SCM) using alternative/waste-derived material resources leading to a reduced carbon footprint of cement products
• enhancing Industrial Symbiosis (IS) within or across the industrial value chains
• addressing key enablers for the successful deployment of relevant innovations

Moreover, the workshop addressed standardisation and policy aspects taking into account their key role in achieving the development of sustainable high-end market products with increased social acceptance and awareness.
