We are thrilled to share that the ReActiv project has reached a significant milestone by developing a technical pre-dossier in line with the guidelines of CEN/TR 16912 (Guidelines for a procedure to support the European standardization of cements). This important step lays the groundwork for the standardization of various types of modified processed bauxite (also known as bauxite residue) as new Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCMs).
These innovative SCMs can possibly serve as main constituents in CEM II/A and CEM II/B cements, marking a significant contribution to sustainable cement production. This achievement will be further assessed within the framework of the SuStaCEM project, ensuring alignment with industry standards and boosting the circular economy.
