The ReActiv project is coming to an end!
The ReActiv Final Event, held on 27th March 2025 at the ACE Events premises in Brussels and organised by European Aluminium, marked a key milestone in demonstrating the innovative potential of processed bauxite (also referred to as bauxite residue or red mud) as a Supplementary Cementitious Material (SCM) for low-carbon cement production.
The event also highlighted the strategic role of cement plants and alumina refineries in advancing circular economy principles, showcasing how industrial symbiosis can transform processed bauxite into a valuable resource.
Livestreamed to an international audience, the event aimed to raise awareness and visibility of ReActiv technologies and SCMs, in line with the project’s communication strategy and its alignment with core EU sustainability objectives.
