On the 27 of June 2025, the ReActiv consortium gathered in Athens for the final project meeting, hosted by METLEN, marking the official closure of a truly transformative Horizon 2020 journey. After four and a half years of dedicated research, collaboration and innovation, we had the honour to present the final project results to Mr. Dimos Paraskevas, European Commission Project Officer and Prof. Fabio Montagnaro, External Evaluator, in a constructive and engaging review session.
Each partner presented their work, highlighting the tangible progress made in turning bauxite residue into value-added, low-carbon cementitious materials and showcasing how industrial symbiosis can serve as a cornerstone for circular economy implementation in Europe.
The day concluded not only with comprehensive technical discussion but also with smiles, shared moments and warm reflections captured in a few family photos — a fitting closure to years of trust and joint effort across 23 partners and 12 countries.
A heartfelt thank you to every participant, speaker and team member who contributed to this unique and ambitious endeavour. Your commitment turned a high-risk research idea into real impact — environmentally, industrially and strategically.
